Interface tour

A quick map of the Nota window so the rest of the handbook has names to point at.

From top to bottom:

  • Title bar — the document name, the edition badge, and the Share feedback button.
  • Transport — record, play, stop, loop and metronome on the left; CPU meter and master level on the right.
  • Browser (left) — a tree of instruments, effects and presets you drag into the project. It also accepts audio files dropped from Finder.
  • Arrangement (centre) — the timeline where clips live along tracks.
  • Device chain / detail panel (bottom) — the devices on the selected track, and the piano roll or waveform editor for the selected clip.
  • Arrangement view — a linear timeline, for arranging a full song.
  • Session view — a grid of scenes and clip slots, for looping and live ideas.

Head into Instruments to start making sound, or read up on the devices on each track.
