Installation

Nota ships as a desktop application for macOS. This page covers getting it onto your machine and launching it for the first time.

  • macOS — Apple Silicon or Intel.
  • A working audio output (built-in, USB interface, or aggregate device).
  1. Download the latest Nota build.
  2. Move Nota.app into your Applications folder.
  3. Launch it. On first run macOS may ask you to confirm opening an app from an identified developer.

When Nota opens you get an empty project. Before you make sound, set up your audio device — see Audio setup.
